DESCRIPTION:

Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of quinolones and acts bactericidal against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp.

INDICATIONS:

Gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by enrofloxacin sensitive micro-organisms like Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. in calves, cattle, goats, sheep and swine.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to enrofloxacin.
Administration to animals with seriously impaired hepatic and/or renal functions.
Concurrent administration of tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.

Side effect: This product has very low toxic. Its main side effect contains:

1. It may affect the regular development of juvenile's skeleton and cause pain or limp.

2. It may cause vomiting, inappetence, diarrhea.

3. There could be reaction such as erythema, pruritus, urticaria or photaesthesia.

4. Cats, dogs adopting this product may occasionally have the reaction of allergic or epilepsia.

DOSAGE:

Administrated by deep intramuscular injection.

Animals	Dosage
Calves, cattle, sheep and goats	1 ml per 20 - 40 kg body weight for 3 - 5 days
Swine	1 ml per 20 - 40 kg body weight for 3 - 5 days

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

cattle, sheep: 14 days

Swine: 10days

Rabbit: 14 days
 

 

WARNING:

Animals with severe kidney or liver problems may need a reduced dose of enrofloxacin. Hydration should be monitored and fluid therapy used in animals at risk for dehydration. Enrofloxacin should be used with caution or avoided in animals at risk for seizures. This drug is not used in humans due to central nervous system stimulation. Enrofloxacin should not be used for regional antibiotic perfusion because it is too irritating and will cause vasculitis.

Dosage and Administration	For intramuscular injection. Single dose: pig, cattle, goat and sheep: 0.025ml / kg body weight; dog, cat and rabbit:0.025-0.05ml /kg body weight, once or twice a day for 2-3 days.
Side Effects	This product has very low toxic. Its main side effect contains: (1)It may affect the regular development of juvenile's skeleton and cause pain or limp. (2)It may cause vomiting, inappetence, diarrhea, etc. (3)There could be reaction such as erythema, pruritus, urticaria or photaesthesia, etc. (4)It may occasionally have the reaction of allergic or epilepsia on cats and dogs.
Precaution	(1)Should not be applied to horse and dog before 8 weeks. (2)It has transient irritant after intramuscular injection. (3)Should be used with caution for epileptic dogs because of its potential excitation to the central nervous system and activated epilepsy. (4)Crystalluria can be induced occasionally,so it should be used with caution for livestock with renal dysfunction.
